Hello everyone! February has flown by, and with it comes the moment to share our latest Staff Picks. This month, we’ve immersed ourselves in a wealth of EPs and albums leaving us pondering over our final selections. It was an absolute pleasure navigating these new sonic territories. We hope these listens accompany and inspire you as profoundly as they did us! Enjoy!

☉ Evigt Mörker – 6

Evigt Mörker - 6

Evigt Mörker‘s “6” emerges as the latest installment in his distinctive self-release series, marking a potent return six years after its predecessor. This EP further solidifies his standing as a purveyor of Nordic Techno, meticulously conceptualizing techno, ambient, and avant-garde electronic currents into a singular, highly refined sonic lexicon.
Departing from conventional structural paradigms, the work unfolds as a calculated crescendo of whispered revelations and pervasive latent tensions. Crepuscular atmospheres intricately coalesce with sparse, yet impactful, minimal percussions, forging immersive soundscapes that defy immediate categorization. Each composition acts as a conduit for deep introspection, charting a compelling trajectory that resonates with the discerning listener’s emotional and cerebral faculties. “6” is an exercise in subtle power, a testament to Mörker’s ability to craft experiences that are as intellectually engaging as they are viscerally affecting.

☉ Impurity & Tano – Red Rhythm [Of Paradise]

Impurity & Tano - Red Rhythm [Of Paradise]

The collaboration between Liverpool-based producer Impurity and New York’s Tano culminates in the “Red Rhythm” EP. This inaugural effort from the duo also marks the first release of 2026 for Of Paradise, which is set to celebrate its tenth year in the game.
Fusing their distinctive sonic palettes and drawing from the inherent urban influences of their respective home cities, the EP emerges as a raw, industrial-leaning, and audaciously outlandish proposition. The compositions are characterized by metallicized sonorities that evoke a deeply metropolitan flair, outlining a visceral strain of electronics that navigates between urban tensions and subterranean energy.

☉ Matryoshka – Blasé Saint [Sferic]

Matryoshka - Blasé Saint [Sferic]

Jaqueline Lawson, under her Matryoshka moniker, makes a compelling debut with “Blasé Saint” on sferic, an LP that immediately reveals an exceptional emotional breadth. Drawing from a diverse constellation of influences — from the spectral atmospherics of Burial and Space Afrika to the intricate rhythmic pulse of Shinichi Atob —Matryoshka synthesizes a sound uniquely her own. Her background in dubstep, trance, and hard dance is not merely referenced but transmogrified into haunted, Basinski-esque sonic memories. The album is a masterpiece of subtle power, in which Matryoshka’s harmonic instinct is the central pillar.

☉ Moene – Sessions 1–4 [Artisjok Records]

Moene - Sessions 1–4 [Artisjok Records]

Artisjok welcomes drummer prodigy Moene Peeters with “Sessions 1-4”. The EP is the result of an intense mentorship trajectory and collaborative process, in which prominent figures such as drum & bass veteran dBridge, Helena Casella, Le Motel, and Lander Gyselinck actively shared their experience and contributed to the genesis of the tracks.
This shared journey is palpable throughout the EP, which gathers four dense and layered compositions. ☉ Various Artists – 15 Years of Butter Sessions – Disc One [Butter Sessions]

Various Artists - 15 Years of Butter Sessions - Disc One [Butter Sessions]

Butter Sessions celebrates 15 years in the game with a trilogy of 12″s, an initiative that powerfully reaffirms a curatorial vision as coherent as it is radical. We’ve chosen to highlight “Disc One” while by no means disparaging the magnificent subsequent chapters of the series. It goes without saying that, to fully grasp the experience, acquiring the bundle containing all the records would represent a true gem for any collector.
“Disc One” opens with label bosses Sleep D, welcoming listeners with a deep, spatial beatdown crafted in collaboration with Sapporo sound sculptor Kuniyuki, powered by dub pressure and percussive hypnosis. Then we will find Mosam Howieson, Hasvat Informant, Fader Cap, Mayurashka, Albrecht La’Brooy and Sunju Hargun. The entire “Disc One” configures itself as a true abstract journey into bass, acid, techno, and derivative sounds, charged with Butter Sessions’ curatorial finesse.

☉ Blu Aloé – Herde [Downwards Records]

Blu Aloé - Herde [Downwards Records]

Blu Aloé‘s “Herde” makes its stark statement on Downwards Records, serving as a visceral progression from the “chaos and fragility” that defined last year’s self-released “Liminal Space” album. Shaped by Köln’s Brutalism platform and Berlin’s relentless techno chambers, Aloé wields modular synthesis with a steel-edged precision, conjuring dank aromas that bind hermetic concentration with resonant decay. Her debut on Karl O’Connor’s legendary imprint unfurls a spectral voice at the confluence of industrial experimentation, drone, and noise techno.

☉ Various Artists – STAUB 10 [STAUB]

Various Artists - STAUB 10 [STAUB]

On February 14th STAUB commemorated its thirteenth anniversary, with a defining 24-hour event but also through the release of its tenth annual “various artists” compilation. This Berlin-based collective, has maintained an admirable consistency over the years in its ethos: fostering a platform via its own imprint for a series of compilations spotlighting artists often described as “unknown.”
Irrespective of established profiles or nascent talents, the core focus remains on judicious selection. This tenth installment expertly curates five tracks of unadulterated techno, unequivocally distinct from the homogenized offerings permeating the contemporary market. The EP stands as a further testament to STAUB’s foundational vision, affirming its commitment to inclusivity and robust support for the electronic scene’s emergent voices. It is a potent sonic manifesto, unequivocally reaffirming the intrinsic value of rigorous artistic inquiry and uncompromised authenticity.

☉ Pugilist – Maternal [Shall Not Fade]

Pugilist - Maternal [Shall Not Fade]

Melbourne’s genius Pugilist lands on Shall Not Fade with “Maternal”, an EP composed of four elegant, boundary-blurring dubwise house cuts. This lush work is designed to make the body, mind, and soul vibrate, serving as tangible proof that when a producer possesses a distinctive sonic identity and technically masters sound, genre labeling becomes superfluous.
From the deep and honeyed house of the title track “Maternal” to the soulful jungle excursion of “Marigold” enriched by caressed nostalgic percussion and fleeting guitar licks, the EP reveals itself as a true gem to own. Each track offers a unique perspective, solidifying Pugilist’s reputation as a versatile artist capable of shaping rich and immersive soundscapes.

Hiss is Bliss ft Ras Tweed - 7HZ005 [777Hz]

For its fifth installment, 777Hz presents “7HZ005” a compelling collaboration between Hiss Is Bliss and the legendary vocalist Ras Tweed. For the “Power Version” Tweed delivers an extraordinary vocal performance, imbued with his distinctive voice. The A-side track powerfully reasserts a return to the roots, grounding the listener in classic dub sensibilities.

☉ Null Wave – Pinnascam [SoHaSo]

Null Wave - Pinnascam [SoHaSo]

Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve stumbled upon an utterly mind-blowing EP. “Pinnascam” is the brainchild of Null Wave, a sound engineer hailing from Utrecht, and it has been released on SoHaSo. This is a release that defies any attempt at categorization: we are unable, and frankly, unwilling to pigeonhole it within a specific genre. Rather, our most spontaneous reaction is an incredulous “what the hell is this stuff?!”, such is its staggering impact.
The four tracks on “Pinnascam” are as unique as they are brilliant. From the maniacal title track “Pinnascam” with its vintage Warp Records vibe and reverberating bass, to the delicate and intriguing closer “Debits” with its halftime rhythm action and subsonic basslines, Null Wave demonstrates an exceptional mastery of complex beat manipulations. This is a work that demands attentive listening and unconditional support. Who knows if one day we might see a physical release?
