A new edition of our column “Palpebræ Staff Picks,” presenting a selection of 10 EPs that have captivated us during this transition from summer to autumn. The main artwork is centered around the painting “September Morn” by Paul Émile Chabas, whose central figure is a female symbol of purity and rebirth.
In an era when even a revolutionary platform like Aslice is fading, we believe even more strongly in the importance of supporting producers by sharing their work with the public. This is to uplift a category that is increasingly distressed and overlooked, to highlight the myriad exceptional artists out there, and to hope that with small contributions from all of us, the electronic music scene can be reborn and continue to improve endlessly.

Erik Jabari – Soft Spikes [Erik Jabari]

Second release by the upcoming talent Erik Jabari on his own imprint born this year. Erik is developing a characteristic signature for his sound, spreading groovy and substantial rhythms, encoding Detroit and dub techno influences. Wide visions on his recorded jam sessions.

After the massive compilation selected time ago on Pi Electronics we finally get this outstanding and impressive remix package. Alex selected a great team of artists giving the right value to what was Divide & Rule. Samuel Kerridge, Templeyard, Monrella and Sawf have given to this EP the right shape it deserved. Experimentation at its peak between broken beats, industrial sounds and the perfect raw details, for passionate, not for everybody.
